  • Welcome To Cube News Network
G'day and welcome to Cube News Network. Im not going to fill your head with BS like "We are the premier source for GameCube news" etc because I know that this site isn't. My aim for this website, is to provide gaming news to you, the gamers. The layout is very basic I know, but Im not the best at HTML, and it is very easy for me to find things and update it. The site will only feature GameCube new (and the odd GBA news from time to time). . Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. After a lot of looking around. We have some forums (YES! forums, not prison camps we see on other sites that are WAY too strict) I doubt they will get any use, but feel free to use them. I don't think I will bother with screenshots as my webspace is limited. Although you might see some from time to time.

Well the InvisionFree forums buggered up so I found another forum for the site. The forums are hosted free by UpperBoard. For free forums they are pretty darn cool.

To have a look at the new forums click here. I am currently looking for some mods to moderate the boards, so if you want to be a mod just go to the contact page, and send me an email.

This was revealed at E3 last month when Nintendo of Europe announced their Release Schedule, but a lot of site seem to be reporting the news now.

According to a release list on the official Nintendo of Norway website, Paper Mario and Super Mario are scheduled to be released sometime in the near future. Paper Mario is an RPG which appeared on the late N64 a few years ago. Could it be a sequal to the great N64 version? Or just another port? As for Super Mario, no other details were given.

Stick with Cube News Network (Heh I just relised it was abbreviated to CNN)as we try to bring you the latest.

If they aren't send me an email. I hope the site is ok at different resolutions and browsers as im running 800x600.

Press Release: Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter Delayed For GCN
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 2, 2003) Vivendi Universal Games announced today the upcoming sci-fi action game Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter has gone gold for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Both versions are scheduled to ship to retailers on June 19, 2003. Versions of the game for Nintendo GameCube and Windows PC are scheduled to ship September 2, 2003.

Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter takes place hundreds of years in the future, where both human and alien settlers are rapidly colonizing the galaxy, and places players into the role of an ex-special ops officer, Mace Griffin. Against a backdrop of corporate, political and religious intrigue, Griffin is framed for his comrades' deaths. After a ten-year stint in prison, he becomes a bounty hunter, a vocation that gives him access to classified information and a means to aggressively search for the people who set him up to fall. The hallmark of the game is its ability to seamlessly transition the player from first-person action set on alien worlds to intense combat in the depths of space.

The character of Mace Griffin is being brought to life by hard rock front man (Black Flag, Rollins Band), actor ("The Chase," "Johnny Mnemonic"), and spoken word artist Henry Rollins. Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter, developed by U.K.-based Warthog, will ship to retailers with the suggested price of 50 dollars and an ESRB rating of "M" for Mature. Further information about the game can be found at www.hunthemdown.com.

    Interview: GCA GameSpy Interview
GameCube Advanced recently got the opportunity to sit down with GameSpy President, Jon Epstein. Here is part of the interview:

First off, thank you for joining us. We know you are very busy.

When did Nintendo come to Gamespy to talk about Internet/LAN of their upcoming software?

Jon Epstein [President of GameSpy]: We first started talking with Nintendo a few months before E3 2002 about how we might support their developers in the creation of online games.

How long has the Gamespy software for Nintendo been in the development?

Since GameSpy's tools are written in industry-standard development languages, compiling them for the Nintendo development environment is not particularly difficult on an incremental basis. So, you could say that the software has been in development since 1997, when we first released tools for online gaming, or 2001, when we first adapted those products for middleware. Our specific Nintendo port is still in progress; we're waiting for additional market demand to queue this up for completion.

Can you explain briefly how the Gamespy software will be utilized in Nintendo's upcoming online games.

Those developers that use GameSpy's software would be able to quickly and easily add modules to their games which provide player matchmaking, text chat, voice chat, instant messaging, security, ladder systems, online storage (virtual memory card) and other online-related applications. That software inside of their game communicates with GameSpy's master servers, which do things like report back to the game player what other games are about to start, or pass messages to the client.

Will the consumer need to buy any other connectivity perephial besides the Broadband Adapter?

Our software will not require any other adapter than those provided by Nintendo.
